A County Where
Everyone Can
Thrive.
Age & Disability-Friendly Sacramento County is a comprehensive, community-driven initiative to make Sacramento County more livable, accessible and connected — for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and residents of all ages and abilities.
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors formally adopted the Local Age & Disability-Friendly Action Plan (LADAP) resolution — a landmark commitment to improving access for all residents.
Building a Sacramento for All Ages
Sacramento County is taking a significant step toward ensuring a more livable and accessible future for its aging and disabled residents. By 2030, one-fourth of the County’s population will be 60 or older, and currently approximately 200,000 residents live with a disability.
In response to these growing needs, the Department of Child, Family and Adult Services launched the Local Age and Disability-Friendly Action Plan (LADAP) — a comprehensive initiative shaped by years of advocacy and extensive community input.
On February 25, 2025, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors formally adopted the LADAP resolution, reinforcing the County’s commitment to improving access to essential resources for older adults and people with disabilities. Sacramento County is proud to partner with the California Department of Aging and AARP’s Age-Friendly Network of States and Communities to achieve this goal.
“The vision of an age & disability-friendly Sacramento County is not just a dream; it’s a destination we reach together.”
